Michael Jackson = Love

This has been a very strange/difficult/confusing summer. Among my losses, the world loss MUSIC. I honestly believe music died along with Michael Jackson (and all you gotta do is turn on the radio for proof!) For as long as I can remember Prince and Michael Jackson have my idols. The list of favorite songs is endless. It built my childhood and each song is a perfect memory. Like so many people, the death of Michael effected us as if he was a close family member. No matter the controversies, he grew up with all of us...in front of the entire world. White people had the Beatles, everyone else had Michael Jackson :)

Sometying about death manifests a new birth from that life. Each song seems to hold a spirit along with it. I will always believe he was a great man created to do exactly what he did. Make people happy. We should all do the same in our own way.

Here are some pictures taken at Neverland Ranch and Hollywood Blvd the day after his death...then I went back again the of his memorial service (yeah, kinda obsessed)

855 @ Linden

Well, theres one more week left to view my lil Mission painting at the 855 Linden Art Gallery in Carpinteria. It feels so nice to be apart of such an amazing community. I'm loving this little town and looking forward to being more involved in the gallery's activities! Here's a few snaps of the opening reception. Make sure you stop by the gallery to check it out! Exhibit ends Sept. 14. :)
