THE MAKE UP SHOW LA

I'm just beaming with inspiration right now!

Yesterday I was so happy to be able to attend The MakeUp Show in LA. I gotta say it was a bit overwhelming (in a good I'm-gonna-puke-this-is-so-awesome kinda way) at first. So many lines...so many products...so little money!

So lets just say I spent more time taking the free classes that were offered than I did checking out all the goodies. I did manage to pick up a really nifty $8 brush holster (in silver, oooh) and $5 face charts from The Powder Group. Both should come in handy at work, so I'd say that was a wise investment :o)

I would have LOVED to be able to afford the extra $150 to take the hands-on classes, but unfortunately. Well, ya know. So you KNOW I was up in those free classes! And if I didn't feel like I was getting much out of one class, I'd hop on to the other. I did get some great information, advice, and inspiration.

It was really interesting to see a "Blogger Forum" class on the schedule, so of course I had to stop by. Make-Up Artist and Beauty Editor, Elke Von Freudenburg gave some really great tips on starting a successful blog. I've been going back and forth on the whole blog thing...mainly because my mind is constantly 10 places at once (at LEAST). Should I talk about EVERYTHING I'm interested in? Should I narrow it down? What IS my passion? Is my passion to have a passion? I've been asking myself these questions (and much, much more) since this class. I started looking at other beauty blogs and such. I know I don't really want to write about product. That just bores me for some reason...unless its just something I absolutely love and want to preach about.

What do I want to write about? People tell me all the time (especially anyone in my chair) that I should write my stories. Back when blogging was still nerdy, I spent hours on myspace typing up my crazy everyday stories (which I always had to tweak a little, for entertainment, ya know).

And thats it! Thats ME! Crazy stories with no purpose or meaning. Whatever makes you laugh. I gotta go back to the old school myspace days when I didn't care who was reading. The only way I can get those stories out is to WRITE, right? Right. Write.
